Every expert had to start somewhere. All experience is learned. The market challenge seeks to expose FIS members to the equity markets. The goal is to create an atmosphere that is condusive to individual growth. There are many of you who have absolutely no experience with investment management, and this is the place to start.
The simulator will allow participants to buy and sell stocks, EFTs, and options. Almost anything that has a ticker symbol and is exchange-traded is fair game. We will be competing against other FIS members to see who can create the greatest returns during the course of the semester.
This competition will be a catalyst for its participants to monitor market movements, discover investment strategies, identify sector trends, and begin to independently seek financial information in an attempt to come out on top. We all know rewards don’t come without risk, but please be careful when trading derivatives. They bite.
