PRESIDENT:

  • Requires approximately 16 hours commitment each week.
  • The President is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing all society club business.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and authority to the other officers and members.
  • Govern all FIS weekly meetings and attend any meetings which require a FIS representative, such as weekly ABSC Presidents Meetings.
  • Must have the ability to motivate all officers and members, encouraging student involvement in all organizational events.
  • Maintain internal stability and good will among officers and members.
  • Keep and maintain the good reputation of FIS with all external entities by acting in a professional manner at all times.
  • Oversee the scheduling and confirmation of FIS guest speakers.
  • Secure weekly meeting facility.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups of people.
  • Maintains communication between FIS and faculty advisor Dr. Haddad.
  • Signer on the FIS checking account.



PRESIDENT ELECT:

  • Requires approximately 6-10 hours of commitment each week.
  • President the following semester.
  • Act as President if/when necessary.
  • Shadow and assist current President as well as FIS officers will all responsibilities.
  • Assist with conducting elections.
  • ABSC Representative for FIS.
  • Create student internship list and distribute to interested members; encourage members to use campus resume center and workshops.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts.
  • Assist President (when needed) with maintaining communication between FIS and faculty advisor Dr. Haddad.



VP PROFESSIONAL & BUSINESS AFFAIRS:

  • Requires at least 6 hours of commitment each week.
  • Responsible for planning the professional speaker program. To include; contacting speakers, scheduling events and maintain speaker contact list.
  • Must work closely with VP of Marketing to ensure proper advertisement of weekly meetings. All meetings must be finalized more than a week in advance in order to be published in marketing materials and weekly newsletters.
  • Responsible for the introduction of ALL speakers, the presentation of speaker gifts and sending “thank you’ notes to all speakers no later than one day after the meeting.
  • Plans company tours
  • Ensures all meetings are conducted in a smooth and professional manner.
  • Assist President with society duties to include planning events, end of year banquet, alumni and election night.



VP FINANCE:

  • Requires approximately 6 hours of commitment each week.
  • Responsible for obtaining funds and reimbursements through ABSC.
  • Responsible for the accounting of FIS cash receipts and the management of FIS expenditures.
  • Must maintain a cash basis accounting system, pay invoices, reimburse officers, make all FIS bank deposits, and receipt record-keeping.
  • Facilitates and collects membership dues.
  • Signer on FIS checking account and co-approver on all expenses.
  • Maintain and distribute FIS budget to officers and advisor on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for facilitating and maintaining the stock simulation game.
  • Provide banquet awards.
  • Assist President with society duties.



VP MARKETING & PROMOTIONS:

  • Requires approximately 6 hours of commitment each week.
  • In charge of publicizing ALL FIS events.
  • Responsible for obtaining new FIS banner for use at various events.
  • Create flyers to market all events and recruit new members.
  • Post flyers around campus WEEKLY for each meeting and/or social activity. Flyers should be posted at least one week in advance of the next meeting.
  • If possible, announce upcoming events in the “This Week” section of the Daily Aztec. Communicate with Daily Aztec to place ads in paper.
  • Design and maintain the FIS website.
  • Assists and sets up book stuffing at the beginning of the semester at the Aztec bookstore.



VP EXTERNAL (SOCIAL) AFFAIRS:

  • Requires approximately 6 hours of commitment each week.
  • Plan a minimum of one social event per month.
  • Plan year end banquet with other officers and member committee.
  • Help to increase networking among members.
  • Motivate members to get involved with FIS activities.Assist VP Fundraising to ensure food & beverage is provided weekly.
  • Maintain a digital and written account of FIS events throughout the semester. Create a “scrapbook” for the upcoming semester.
  • Plan one community service event per month.



VP OPERATIONS:

  • Requires approximately 6-10 hours of commitment each week.
  • Organize fundraising events and motivate members to become involved in fundraising efforts.
  • Responsible for obtaining outside sponsorship. Sell ad space for t-shirts and flyers to local businesses.
  • Responsible for providing a variety of food (and water bottles) at weekly FIS meetings.



VP MEMBERSHIP:

  • Requires approximately 6 hours of commitment each week.
  • Distribute weekly E-newsletter to members.
  • Responsible for gathering all information from other officers in order to keep the website calendar updated in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for recording and distributing weekly officer meeting minutes.
  • Present awards at annual banquet.
  • Recruit members to join FIS at the beginning of the semester.
  • Keep accurate and easily accessible list of member contact information.
  • Monitor member participation by keeping up to date attendance system.
  • Attempts to discover member needs and wants and relays those to officers.
  • Collect and accurately record membership dues.
